6 Months!!!

OK, so I'm a little late. Sorry, life gets pretty busy sometimes. A couple of weekends ago, I had the opportunity to travel to Chicago and spend the weekend with some of my best friends from college: Dan Kakish, Craig Childs, Brad Habegger, Shaun Peters, and Aaron Duke. We all stayed at Kakish's bachelor pad and spent the weekend playing video games, telling old stories (that never seem to get old), laughing, drinking...umm...pop, and smoking the hooka (not Brad or Aaron, of course). I wish there were pictures from the weekend, but you'll have to take my word that it was a really fun time.

While I was gone, Courtney held down the fort without me. Thankfully her family helped a lot by watching Levi, plowing the driveway, and hanging out with her while I was away. She also got to watch a couple of movies that I would never see: Mamma Mia and High School Musical. So I guess we both had a good weekend.

Mommy let Levi watch High School Musical.
Not sure what I think about that...

Last week Levi had his 6 month check-up. Everything went well, thanks for asking. He was 17 pounds exactly (40th percentile) and 25-5/8 inches long (20th percentile). It is amazing to us how much he has grown already...they really do grow up fast!!

...and here he is, 6 months later!

On Sunday we took Levi in to get his 6 month pictures done. Like all new parents, we went overboard and got way too many pictures. It was hard to decide because they were all so darn cute. So, if you want a picture, just let us know...we have plenty to spare!

Practicing his mischievous look.

Either Levi really shrunk or that is a huge rubber ducky.

As for Levi, he continues to grow and develop. His newest favorite things to do are sitting up all on his own (except for the occasional face plant), sucking on his toes (yes, its as gross as it sounds), and grabbing anything he can get his hands on (including hair). He continues to bring joy and excitement to our lives. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful little man!

He's smiling because he knows he's in perfect position to eat his toe jam.

Another Milestone

Last week we decided it was time to start Levi on solid foods. So Courtney and I have been trying to feed him rice cereal with mixed results. He seems more interested in grabbing the bowl, spoon, bib, or anything else he can get his hands on. He's getting better though, so I suppose its only a matter of time before he is throwing down sloppy joes with dad and Grandpa Chapin.

Enjoying his bib more than his food...

Someone needs to learn how to use a napkin.

With each passing week, Levi is doing more and more. He's now grabbing for just about anything and trying to shove it in his mouth. He likes to laugh when dad and mom make crazy noises. He's started grabbing his feet and putting them in his mouth. And much to dad and mom's frustration, he's not sleeping through the night anymore. He gets very temperamental around bedtime and its getting harder and harder to get him to sleep at night. Even as I type, I can hear him crying in the next room. So I think its time to bring this post to a close. Enjoy the pictures!

Levi was very excited about another Pistons victory.

This is probably the cutest outfit ever.

He seemed to enjoy being on his tummy, at least for a short time.

Don't show this shirt to Grandpa Terry...

Sucking his thumb is quickly becoming a favorite pasttime.

Cutest. Kid. Ever.
